The 1690 Schenectady Massacre, as devastating as that was, still holds into the quantum constructs of the environment. All of that negative energy let loose from hunters and hunted imprinted into the environment and most likely remains there to this day. These are not ghosts as we think of (intelligent), these are in fact residual impressions left behind that replay in moist air conditions, or high electrical surges (rain, thunderstorms, lightning).
This is a type of haunting that is called "place memory" or "residual haunting". These apparitions and/or sounds cannot interact, nor be disrupted since they are like playbacks on a tape. The home of Heinrick Horstmeyer is haunted by place memory. Hearing footsteps but seeing no apparition is very common for place memory type haunting.
There is a house on S. Church St. I will be helping an event with and the historian told me that by the fireplace there was a cubby that the residents of the house would hide in while the massacre was happening. I am sure that home has some residual psychic impressions.
History and the paranormal work well together. to understand the paranormal claims of an area you must understand its history.

:)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15647744621514003328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894807574536725975.post-12279885941905935372017-11-20T10:39:21.248-05:002017-11-20T10:39:21.248-05:00Haha, that might be a selling point for some peopl...Haha, that might be a selling point for some people. I remember my Grandmother's sister (Nelle Horstmyer) telling me the story just as related here. When Heinrick was trying to the sell the house he got quite upset with Nelle, who never failed to tell everyone that the house was haunted.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07485470047215868068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6894807574536725975.post-17125347119369062352014-10-20T16:45:51.334-04:002014-10-20T16:45:51.334-04:00We're very glad that you enjoyed it! :) Thanks...We're very glad that you enjoyed it! :) Thanks for your comment.
